Green roofs, terraces, paved and gravel roofs
One of the reasons why green roofs are becoming more widespread is that they can now be economically constructed using domestic materials, either for new buildings or for renovation work with retrofitted landscaping layers.
When installing a green roof, it is important to know the structural load-bearing capacity of the load-bearing slab, the suitability of the rainwater sealing (root-resistant or not) and the type of green roof required: extensive or intensive green roofs?
The advantages of an extensive green roof lie in the improvement of the microclimate. They do not require regular horticultural maintenance or watering. They provide an aesthetic appearance when overlooked and protect the roof insulation from environmental influences. The thin-layer, low-weight horticultural layers are also ideal for retrofitting existing flat roofs with greening". The intensive green roof offers its users all the joy and beauty of the garden, although it requires regular care and watering. Its design can be innumerable according to the customer's needs, the only condition is the static load capacity of the slab. We recommend the SICOFOL 1.5 mm soft PVC sheet for insulating garages, greenhouses, and green roofs. The 1.5 mm plate, provided with a protective layer from the bottom to the top, ensures both rainwater insulation and root resistance.
In case of existing or other waterproofing materials, the root protection sheet is the SICOFOL 1 mm
